On April 21st, 2012 Front Royal, VA became the newest Appalachian Trail Community. It was a pleasure to be able to support our community as we continue to grow. The Appalachian Trail is 2200 miles of trail! That’s a lot of footsteps and it’s great that PRO was invited to help hikers of all ages learn how to take measures to prevent hiking injuries. As John Muire said, “One touch of nature makes all the world kin.”
“Thank you so much to all the staff at PRO Physical Therapy for helping to make our Appalachian Trail Community designation celebration such a success! Your booth looked very popular and I know from my own experience that those folks got great advice on preventing hiking and backpacking injuries!”
–Sonja Carlborg, Appalachian Trail Designation committee member
This was the first year we participated in Winchester/Frederick Relay For Life. What an AMAZING experience! We raised a total of $4,350.00. We had several fundraisers such as Thirty-One sales, Cake Walk, Penny Raffles, Jewelry Sales, T-Shirt sales at the event (which was a HUGE hit!!), we were FLOCKED several times at the event and several team members sold a lot of Luminaries (which makes the event special at dusk!!) PRO Physical Therapy was a corporate sponsor for the event. We were blessed to have such a wonderful team and to be able to be a part of such a wonderful event. We honored several patients by purchasing luminaries for them and/or their family members.
In 2010 PRO Physical Therapy participated in the Haiti Mobile Teacher Program. The Mobile Teacher Program is a free education program committed to providing learning opportunities to children ages 4 through 7 in Borgne, Haiti.
These children would not otherwise receive an education. PRO contributed seven Mobile School Crates. Employees at PRO decorated the crates, which were filled with various schools supplies and shipped to Haiti. The decorated crates were then used as magnet boards, chalkboards, and storage for student materials.
In 2010 PRO Physical Therapy donated to Winchester Parks & Recreation to improve the Kiwanis Par Course/Walking Trail in Jim Barnett Park. Our donation provided for specific equipment along the trail in addition to donations from Kiwanis which paid for paving the previously gravel path.
The Par course exercises give an all over workout in addition to improving balance and flexibility. This course is a fun way for the whole family to keep active and healthy!

Having served on the Board of St. Luke Clinic in Front Royal Virginia for three years as chair of fundraising, I had the pleasure of knowing Pro Therapy and the major support that this group provided for us. They never failed to respond to our call for support, particularly for our major annual fundraiser. They continue to work and support this clinic as well as other organizations in our community.
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
